You will provide home based support such as meal management and personal care where required and transport them into the community for appointments and activities.Provide day-to-day support including all aspects of assisting with personal care - bathing, dressing, grooming and medication assistanceHousehold support including some light cleaning and meal preparationProviding community access allowing them to live their best livesBuddy shifts and ongoing training will be provided to ensure you are able to deliver your best to support themAccurate documentation notes, daily records etc.What do you need to become a Support Worker?You are a true people person who is passionate, empathetic and resilient Clear and effective communication skillsHold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) & a NDIS Worker Screening Check (previously a Yellow Card)Hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR certificateWilling to undertake a "Fit2Work" National Criminal History Check (should you be successful)Availability to work every 2nd weekend, rostered overnight shifts and public holidays where required (penalty rates apply)Open Driver's Licence with comprehensive insurance to transfer them into the communityIn line with the direction from State Government, all authorised workers defined under the Queensland Public Health Order will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from 15 December 2021.
