About the role:
Through the Defence Assistance Program (DAP) our employees support Defence personnel to focus on their core duties. Endeavour Foundation deliver the DAP program in partnership with Defence at ten sites nationally. We directly employ staff in QLD, NSW, SA, NT and VIC and we work with service partners to deliver the Defence Assistance Program in ACT and WA. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a DAP Support Officer based at Campbell Park.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Follow relative legislation and Defence policies and procedures
- Draft objective case notes to document and track individual growth, improvement and organisational action in line with NDIS regulations
- Providing full supervision, training and support to a team of DAP employees
- Identifying the tasks to be undertaken for each support activity
- Managing timeframes for delivery of services with Defence personnel using the services at the time a support job is lodged
- Scheduling DAP Team workloads on a daily basis to ensure administrative and any other support requirements are completed accurately and on time
- Consulting and collaborating with Defence personnel, setting quality control standards and ensuring that these standards are maintained at all times
- Facilitating the integration of the DAP employees into the Defence workplaces throughout the bases
- Notifying the National Program Manager of any closures or reduced staffing due to absences of DAP Team members
- Participating in on-the-job training and meetings and comply with Endeavour Foundation’s and Defence policies and procedures
What you will bring:
- A positive attitude with the ability to remain calm
- Experience working with people with a disability preferably in an employment setting
- Demonstrated experience in coaching individuals and delivering learning opportunities, preferably for those with disability
- Skills and knowledge associated with working within a positive behaviour support framework.
- Interpersonal and strong communication skills required to develop relationships with team members and stakeholders and deal with issues of a sensitive nature
- Conflict management and negotiation skills
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Hold a current Class C Drivers Licence
- Certificate III or IV in Community Services â Disability Work or Aged Care (desirable)
- Ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance from the Australian Government & Security Vetting Agency (must be an Australian citizen)
- Proficiency in using current MS Office (i.e Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and communication technologies.
